New Brunswick was AWESOME!
Hey guys, I'm back from the Canadian Nationals..and things went great!
Things got started for me on Tuesday evening. I entered the Golden Harvest Qualifier, Its a tournament where N.D.F.C. members pay 30$ entry fee and battle for 4 prizes of equal value which constitute 500$ cash and entry fee paid for the Harvest!! WAHHOO!! I won that prize along with another fellow team member Jeff Noble, John Part and Dave Cameron where the other succesfull players. Wednesday came along and before we knew it The Nationals Singles championship was on there way. Big upset when John Part got knocked out in the top 32 round by Seymour Dixon. Anyway after all was said and done I finished once again 5th in Canada which gave me a 1000$ cash and 5th spot on Team Canada. I'll be heading of to England in November with Rory Orvis(national champ), Seymour Dixon, Dave Cameron, Ghislain Tremblay to play the WINMAU WORLD MASTERS. Now thats 2 trips I won already, and I was on cloud 9! Just when I thought things couldn't get any better...it DID!.Thursday came along with the World Cup Qualifier. The World Cup Qualifier is a tournament offering 3 trips to the World Cup of darts which is held in Epinal France in September. The kick about this Tournament, and what makes it such a tough one to win is that only the top 8 rranking canadian shooters and only the Provincial champions are allowed to play. So this meant that every game was gonna be a war....and it was! But I pulled it out with a couple of big wins, one against Jeff Smith of New Brunswick(He made the Masters Team with me last year) and my final match against Carl Mercer of Alberta. I shot very well and came out smelling like a rose with an airplane ticket and rooms paid for at the World Cup in Epinal, France.. I'm going to FRANCE BABY!! WAHHOOO! Well all I have to say is that I love this game, and it is because of this sport of darts that I have travelled near and abroad and have been able to see places that I would never have been able too. I would like to put a Special ThankYou to my Teammates on team Northern Ontario. Your support was heard all week and much appreciated by myself, In case I never said it Thank you for your support. Just to make the Week a total success for me, At the award banquet I was voted in by my peers as the N.D.F.C. Sportsman of the year!. Wich gave me a nice plaque and a major case of red face from my embarrassement. Thank you my friends for voting me in to such an award! what an honor. In all what a week well spent! I met a boatload of new associates and friends..Wayne Morrissey ..thank you for everything! Greg Lewis..if I gotta be beat, might as well be a nice guy like you thats holding the axe! thanks for everything! John Markham..well there a man who can play a set darts..a fierce competitor buta heck of a nice guy! I won't forget you shirt next year buddy!
